Island Boonie

Shadow LOVES coconuts. I'm sure that he sits patiently under our coconut tree waiting for the next one to fall (okay, 'patient' is actually a pretty a misleading way to describe my dog). He then brings it to the back door as a gift for the family. Unfortunately, de-husking coconuts is isn't how I like to spend my days (I spend them sitting on Pinterest, obvi). So most of these coconuts become personal chew toys for Shadow. How healthy is this? I have no idea. Is it a good idea for dogs to chew on coconut husk? Probably not. But then again, Shadow is an island boonie dog to the core. We're pretty sure he only speaks Chamorro. I'm sure he's been chomping down on these bad boys since before he came into our family and I doubt this will be his last. At least it's not my precious mocassins :)
