Don't snub the Coast Guard!

It was made known yesterday by a fellow Coastie wife that yet again the Coast Guard was forgotten publicly, this time by the greeting card company American Greetings. Apparently the Coast Guard was the only branch of the military who was not included in their Veteran's Day card lineup. News of this ignorant "oversight" spread like wildfire and within a few hours their facebook wall was flooded with angry Coastie supporters. It was actually pretty inspiring to see everyone come together like that, and we made such an impact that American Greetings immediately made a public apology stating:

To the members, families, friends and fans of the United States Coast Guard,

We apologize for not having a USCG card for Veteran’s Day. We have heard your feedback and will not only be adding the Coast Guard to our product line next year, but will be providing you with a USCG Veteran’s Day ecard as soon as we can so that you can celebrate this year. We salute all of the hardworking men and women who have served and are currently serving in the United States Coast Guard.

They also responded personally to every single post made on their wall. Here's my response:



It's just nice to see a company own their mistake and make it better. It may be a small incident, but the Coast Guard gets left out pretty pretty regularly and it's important to correct that whenever we can. It's not enough to just shrug it off.

Now the American Greetings facebook wall is covered with Thank You's and photos of uniformed loved ones. Awwwwwwww.
